Physical activity and health initiatives are central to the work of the Third Age Foundation. Use the links to read more about: | A wide variety of exercise and activity programmes designed for older people are organised at regular intervals, particularly under the Go for Life programme, but also other activities such as yoga.The introduction of the Tone Zone programme to Ireland, whereby appropriate physical activity/gym equipment is installed in public spaces for use by older people as part of a fitness programme | | | | Members of TAF prepare for and take part in local and international sports festivals for older people, for example, the World and European Senior Games.Different health initiatives are organised each year, for example, a dental and oral health programme, older women's health initiative and a men’s health initiative. All initiatives areintroduced based on the identified needs and aspirations of TAF members and the local community.Ongoing health services, for example, a monthly chiropody service. |

These benefits can be achieved by healthy older people as well as the frail and very old. The physical activity programmes at TAF aim to provide opportunities and encouragement to older people to get fit and remain active for longer – and have some fun along the way!
